The Servers Directory

The Servers directory is your tracking board for physical and cloud-hosted infrastructure (such as AWS EC2, DigitalOcean Droplets, or on-premise hardware). Navigate to Monitors > Servers in the left sidebar to audit machine uptimes and communication health across your entire network fleet.

Directory Controls

  • Search Tool: Quickly filter down your hostnames, labels, or target IP addresses by typing into the search input box at the top right of the directory.
  • Filtering & Layout Options: Filter your environment by specific connectivity states (Online, Pending, Paused) or toggle your screen layout between list and card profiles.
  • Bulk Action: Allows you to select multiple Servers to Delete.
  • Add Server: Click the blue New button at the right of the header to register a new host machine.

The Server Metrics Matrix

The server table provides real-time infrastructure tracking across six distinct fields:

Column

Description

Name

Displays the custom nickname you assigned to the server, with its explicit IP Address and Port configuration (e.g., 192.168.1.178:443) right beneath it. It also displays critical agent connection warnings and pause timestamps.

Uptime

The aggregate connection reliability score tracking how long the server has been actively reporting telemetry.

Status

The real-time connection latency of the monitoring ping in milliseconds (ms), marked by a distinct operational state color code.

Interval

The frequency at which Veyon pings or collects data from the server environment (e.g., every 1 minute for intensive monitoring).

Last Checked at

A relative timeline status checking exactly when the network last validated communication with the host machine.

Action

The quick-actions menu (...) allowing you to edit host profiles, view host profile, view Incidents, Install Agent link, toggle operational monitoring states (pause/resume), or remove a machine from your workspace entirely.

Critical Status Badge: Agent Verification

When deploying server resource tracking, you may see a prominent yellow badge in the Name column:

  • ⚠️ Veyon's Agent not installed: This indicates that while the server's network address has been registered in the dashboard, the background metric daemon has not yet been installed, configured, or started on the host machine.  You need to install Veyon’s Agent on your server to work Server Monitoring.
  • Note: When the agent is missing, the server will display an uptime of 0.00% or — (Pending) because deep system statistics (CPU, Memory, Disk space, and background services) cannot be securely pulled without the matching agent daemon running on the host OS.

Server Connection States

The indicator before each server name maps out three primary network communication profiles:

  • 🟢 Green (Online): The host machine is up, fully reachable, and actively sending telemetry metrics or successfully acknowledging port requests within baseline latencies.
  • 🟡 Yellow (Paused): The machine's automated tracking has been intentionally suspended. The log records the exact date and timestamp when the pause sequence occurred, suppressing all alerts.
  • ⚪ Grey (Pending): A newly added server or an agent that has just been deployed and is currently establishing its initial secure validation handshake with the Veyon network.
