Before Veyon can track your host machine's internal performance or establish a secure handshake with the monitoring agent, you need to register the server's network destination in your workspace.

To get started, navigate to Monitors > Servers in the left sidebar and click the blue New button in the upper right corner.

Step-1. Name Your Server:

Provide an easily recognizable identifier in the Server Name field (e.g., Production API Server or Database Replica 01). This name will label your metrics charts and incident alerts.

Step-2. Configure Network Location:

Input your server's access criteria:

  • Server Address: Enter the public or reachable static IPv4 address, IPv6 address, or domain name of your host machine (e.g., 196.0.1.46).
  • Port: Define the explicit network port Veyon should check to verify baseline network availability (e.g., 80 for standard HTTP, 443 for HTTPS, or 22 for SSH). You can click the Check list of available ports link right below this field for common standards.

Step-3. Set the Telemetry Interval:

Choose how frequently Veyon queries your server from the Interval dropdown menu. For production-critical systems, keeping this at the default 1 minute setting guarantees near real-time outage detection.

Step-4. Define Failure Triggers:

Select your preferred behavior rule under Alert condition. By default, this is set to Server is Unavailable, which triggers the moment the target address stops responding to network pings or port requests.

Step-5. Assign Notification Routing:

Click the + button under Alert channels to assign which communication streams (Email, SMS, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Flock, MS Teams, and Webhook) should instantly receive telemetry warnings if the server drops or spikes.

Step-6. Schedule Maintenance (Optional):

If you have a known system update window coming up, expand the Maintenance panel:

  • Select your Start and End dates and times using the calendar selectors (dd-mm-yyyy, --:-- --).
  • Veyon will automatically pause monitoring checks and completely suppress active alert notifications during this specific block.

Step-7. Save and Generate Agent Script:

Click the blue Save button. The system will process your configuration and immediately redirect you to the unique Install Agent script execution page for that specific server node.
